Valhalla

Valhalla is one of a row of 10, the last intact row of Victorian terraces in Australia.

When Somerset acquired the property it had been in Government hands for 100 years and had been converted into 4 apartments and was largely derelict. Listed locally and on the State Heritage Register all proposed works were strictly controlled by the Sydney City Council and Heritage NSW. The planning approvals alone to convert and restore 4 apartments into a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom villa took almost a year.

Nevertheless, styled by internationally renowned Interior designer Thomas Hemel and Somerset’s interiors team, the 3 year venture has produced a masterpiece of the “global traveller“ style, a fusion of Mayfair and the Upper East Side on Sydney Harbour, complete with lift.
